Two recovered episodes: fragments of extraordinary lives narrated for radio.
Italian painter and sculptor, among the most intense and tormented figures in twentieth-century art. Having lived between Livorno, Venice, and Paris, Modigliani left behind a body of work of extraordinary formal elegance — elongated portraits, sinuous necks, eyes without pupils — that established him as one of the masters of European modernism, fully recognized only after his premature death at just 35.

American actor and comedian, among the foremost figures of American comedy in the 1970s. From Chicago's Second City theatre troupe to Saturday Night Live, all the way to major film successes — Animal House, The Blues Brothers — Belushi burned through his extraordinary career with an intensity that left no escape. He died at 33 of an overdose, leaving an irreplaceable void in the world of comedy.
